Anonymous asked: What's your response to people who say that we should be worried more about "real racism" (ex. police brutality/crime rates) than white girls twerking?

There is no hierarchy to racism. Mirco-aggressions carry the same validity and weight as high-profile race issues. Race is a sociological idea that has been ingrained unconsciously in our minds it really holds major power in how we talk and act. Never think something is “too small of an issue”… it’s still an issue.. and it can still be discussed… It’s not about putting more energy into this and giving less energy to that. It’s about seeing the game as a whole at every level in every nook and cranny. Now do I observe more than I speak on.. of course.. Today I chose to engage.. and it’s my right to do that.

I can talk about a white girl appropriating twerking…  I can also speak on the racial inequality of modern day prison system and make a pretty good comparison piece on slavery and police brutatlity..  I can talk about food deserts in inner cities and Black assimiliation all in the same breath… and still be livid that a white woman used the word Nigga..

I would tell those that think “real racism” is a thing.. to stop cornering themselves to one dimension of thinking when it comes to racial topic.
